Okay, the site looks all weird again - it's just another sign that I'm in the process of updating the underlying system that supports my website. It should be all happy soon - even if it does look different. I'll be working on a new visual theme over the next few days, so you'll probably see little peeks of it from time to time.
For the nerds, here are the details - I've made the jump from Drupal 5.X to Drupal 6.X. I don't use very many external modules and I really want to the keep the system up to date. So far, the only module I really miss having is Image Assist. Image Assist made it pretty easy to embed images into stories and I'd like to have the functionality back. For now, I'll just do the digging myself and manually build the SPANs.
The performance of the new schema seems a bit snappier, but that could be wishful thinking (or low traffic loading on the shared server). The basic authoring is better and includes more control.
I'm not going to even try to port the old theme to the new platform. I'll take a theme designed for v6 and modify it to fit. Now - if I could only think like a graphic designer!
